Our Impact
Beauty by Whitney
The situation
Beauty by Whitney began in St. Louis in a market with limited access to the kind of contemporary training, premium service standards, and consolidated artist teams common in larger coastal markets.
The opportunity extended well beyond bridal beauty. The business ultimately served weddings, commercial productions, major motion pictures, concerts, events, and other professional assignments while also providing education and training for beauty professionals.
The challenge
Scaling required more than finding talented artists. The business needed to create a recognizable standard of quality, build a team people wanted to stay on, deliver a consistently exceptional customer experience, and create systems that could support high volume across multiple cities.
The work
Whitney built the company from the ground up — developing the brand, sales process, artist training, operating standards, client journey, CRM, pricing, and multi-market expansion strategy.
She built and retained a 15-person artist team, created stronger compensation and working conditions, developed education and training programs, and mentored other beauty professionals — including women who later built artist teams of their own.
The result
15 weddings in the first four months → 150+ annually for eight consecutive years
Nearly $750K in peak annual revenue
15-artist team
Expansion from St. Louis into Chicago and Kansas City
Beauty by Whitney also became known for something harder to quantify but commercially important: reliability. Clients paid a premium because the brand represented quality work, professionalism, strong products, punctuality, and a smoother experience on high-pressure days.
Why it matters
The entrepreneurial experience behind JAEBYRD comes from actually building the thing — hiring people, retaining talent, earning trust, designing systems, protecting quality, creating customer loyalty, and growing without losing what made the business valuable in the first place.
